Using a specially adapted curriculum
based around Propellerhead Software’s
award winning Reason program, our
classes teach fundamental skills in:
- -Listening
- -Understanding musical elements
- -Developing technical skills and applying these creatively

Our classes are designed to allow
integration with other areas of study
in music by:
- -middle and high school music classes
- -college and university intrductory classes in music or music technology

With an emphasis on learning
about different aspects of music,
rather than simply learning Reason,
our students will cover a variety
of activities including:
- -Building rhythm, bass, harmony & melody tracks
- -Improvising and recording ideas
- -Exploring sounds and textures, using a range of supplied sounds and patches
- -Creating form and structure
- -”Musical” editing to create contrast and variation
- -Creative work with loops
- -Using effects for composing and production
- -Shaping sound using the controls on realistic synths, samplers, and other devices
- -An introductory to mixing - “balance, EQ, panning, and compression”
- -Automating mixer and device parameters for additional production ideas
- -Using technology to develop musical ideas
- -Applying techniques in a creative context through project work
- -Compiling a CD portfolio of course work
