Meet our instructors

Dan McCarthy and Ryan Curtright have been writing and producing music together for over 4 years as the group Theory in Motion. They released their first album “Are You Ready?” over one year ago, and plan to release a second soon. They have had music appear in several commercial spots, and have just finished an original sound score for a full length independent film entitled “Omission”.

Ryan Curtright has had over 9 years of classical piano training, and has taken college courses in classical theory, pop theory, song writing, and music technology.
He has a Bachelors in Computer Science from Seattle Pacific University, and stays current with advances in the field. After Djing for several years, his passion for music brought him to producing music digitally. He has been doing so for over 5 years now.

Dan McCarthy has been creating music via home computer since 1997. He learned bass guitar at an early age and has been using Reason since its inception.
He has also attended courses in music production and audio engineering at the Seattle Art Institute.
